FROST!!!

Postby Enzo » Sat Oct 07, 2006 2:04 pm

Ice on stuff. Now everything will start to die for another year. Always sad day to me - first frost.

Hopefully it didn't nip the pears too bad. Still a few on the tree.

It got down to ~42° last night here. I hope we have a few weeks of nice weather left.

You all are lucky. I bought a really cute pullover brand new and haven't had a chance to wear it yet. :(

I didn't hang around. Perhaps if she passed the "breathalyzer test" she might have gotten off.

Just blow into this, ma'am.

SNOW!!!

Yes, the winter weather is spreading. It snowed here today. While I was riding my bike home from school. For a mile. Bleeh. Cold, and I took my gloves out of my pocket this morning because I thought I wouldn't need them.

I hope we don't get any snow here! I have to sell football programs for the homecoming game tomorrow, and that's an outside job... I want to be toasty, I think I'll layer the flannel shirts on...

Yeah, this is stupid. This morning when I left work I had to scrape ice off the car windows and teh snow on the roof of the truck never melted during the 20 mikes to the homestead. Ground was covered. Official at the airport was .7 inch. This was the earliest measurable snow ever - October 12. It should be in the upper 50s this time of year, not mid 30s. it was blizzarding here and there, almost no visibility. Fortunately 6:30AM is before morning rush hour.

it snowed all day today and there was enough for snow balls. The roads were warm enough that it didn't accumulate, but it is getting colder tonight, so we're watching for ice. Blizzards were worse this evening.

Sucks.

I like to leave the furnace off until November if I can get away with it, but last night I had to fire it up. it is always reassuring when I can flip the switch and things in the basement start immediately to whirring. But that means the gas bill is starting to rise.

Geez, a couple days ago it was 60 something.

As my car has ceased to operate, I may leave any ice that has accumulated where it is without worry :(

Turns out we got nothing, it all stayed up too high in the atmosphere.

good news/bad news

The good news is they say we should have a mild winter due to the El Nino.

The bad news is that it has started already.

Last thursday, October 12, I got to acheive one of my dreams. Playing football in the snow! :D It was great! I was so happy to play in the snow, I didn't even care that it was cold. We (that is Morenci's JV football team) went 2 hours away to play Dewitt. WE won 24 - 18 if I remember right. So not only did I just get to play football in the snow, but won too! :D

And for those who care, tomorrow is the biggest game of the year. We play Sand Creek at Sand Creek. Not only is this my LAST game on JV football, but it's f or a championship. Yup, the Tri-County Confrence, which consists of Morenci (my team!), Sand creek, Summerfield, Britton/Deerfield, Madison, and Whitmore Lake, and Whiteford. So far, Morenci JV and Sand Creek JV haven't lost one game in the TCC yet. Tomorrow we play each other. We beat them last year, which makes this game even bigger. Me and the other sophomores on JV could go undeafeted in TCC during JV. It's nerve-racking and exciting. Well I could go on for hours about tomorrows game so I'm gonna end this paragraph here.

~Jimmy~

BTW Note that that was JV (Junior Varsity) not Varsity. Morenci's varsity sucks big time.

The bad thing is, Jimmy talks to me on the phone about this, too... I just go "uh... huh..." and he says "You have no idea what I'm talking about." "Damn straight."

Well, go Jimmy. What were those DeWitts anyways, Panthers maybe? Pussies last week though, it seems, in front of the Mighty Morenci... what? Morenci Maulers? MAstodons? Mailers? (We'll go postal on your asses.) What are your teams called?

I bet you didn't even wave to me as you drove by. DeWitt is a suburb of Lansing.

It's good that you don't like football, umop. If you did, you would still be crying from Monday night.
