Happy New Year!

And so we pass into the year 2000 and seven.

What'd you people do?

I sat around playing videogames and looked up at the clock at 12:04 am.

Oh yeah, I'm a party animal.

We watched a depressing version of Dick Clark. He's not the perpetual teenager anymore.

First time since arriving in Bavaria that we didn't visit friends&family at home in Berlin. This was avery quiet affair, at least inside the flat. The Baby went to bed at 8, we had Italian delicacies, later sat down to books, bubbly and Bruckner while the candles on the Christmas tree gave a warm light.

Shortly before midnight, the baby demanded a drink, and of course, got one. So did his parents at the strike of midnight. All around us, Fuerth exploded with bürgerkriegsähnlichen Zuständen when hoards of rowdy youth kept lighting fireworks far into the night.

Man, I was hungover today...

Ah. My mom attempted to watch it until she declared, "He keeps reminding me I'm getting old."

She started to watch a re-run of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Aire. My dad was in a different room watching The Angry Beavers.

We watched the South Park Marathon and flipped it to Fox News at 11:59 to watch the countdown in Sin City. Their visible clock was not synchronized with the drunkin sounding voice of the correspondent, they were off by about 10 seconds. Then people in the neighborhood started shooting firecrackers and my cat freaked out. Pretty low key start and I got a feeling this is gonna be a good year. Yep, definitely my year.
I resolved to call the people I love more often. Anybody make any resolutions?

Happy birthday KOS!!! I didn't know you were a new year baby.
In my hands I hold a candle whose flame is small to see, And if I give but one light to you my life is filled for me.
But...In your hands you hold a torch for many eyes to see, So hold it high that they may light their candlewicks from thee.

I was hoping for a story about being the first baby born at the stroke of midnight on New Years Day. . .

Speaking of cool birthdays, my friend Noah is only 4. Yeah, he was born on February 29. Which is super neat.

The writing in my signature might be helpful :P I learned how to do that in school though, since I got out of there in a hurry, and it wasn't the language of the household. . .

Place of birth, but that's it. Not by ethnicity, and grew up in the US from a very young age. I have no memory of life prior to the US. . .

So do you want to wish me a happy birthday now (six months early. Or is that late?) just to be even?

Six months would be a little late. But I will take your birthday wish and store it away. Then, with interest, it will have grown to be an even better wish at the time of the actual birthday

όλβιον νέον έτος!!!

I spent New Year's Eve and New Year's Day hauling massive amounts of heavy junk from one house to another. At least the new one is way nicer, not to mention new and therefore clean.
