Enzo's Spirit for sale, cheap

Postby Lance » Tue Mar 27, 2007 2:43 pm

I just happened to notice that the Round Barn Llama Farm has a gelded llama named Enzo's Spirit for sale for $500. If I had a bigger yard, we'd have ourselves a mascot.

Well Far Out.

SO I can assume it is a tired old worn out beaten down nag of a llama?

A gelding? How appropriate...

WHat would be the point of a pricy gelding? Can't breed it, can't milk it, can't ride it. I know, I know, it has a lovely personality and likes to dance.

Round Barn Llama Farm - say that five time fast.

Jimmy, if she has your soul in a jar, just make sure she pokes some holes in the lid, and maybe throw some blades of grass in there.

Seriously, when I saw the title, I thought you were going to accuse me of selling my soul to get free pop at the gas stations.

It's true. I call it my "soul impound jar." I don't steal souls, I hold them for a price. Jimmy's soul is $5. Mostly it's people that owe me money, and the money they owe is the price of a soul.

See, it's just like a car impound. You get it back unharmed. One of my teachers was a little creeped out but said I was being totally ethical as long as I didn't sell souls to other people. I win.

So, hypothetically, could someone leave their soul with you for safekeeping?

And if Jimmy doesn't pay the price to get his out of impound, would you be willing to sell it, then? 'Cause I'm starting a collection, and I don't have that many young souls yet.

Yep yep. For a small fee, I'd hold your soul.

Sorry, Jimmy's soul is mine. I decided I wanted to own him. You can buy Kelsi's or Brandon's or Kayla's though. They won't pay up.

We also have Moose's Ex boyfriend, "Blue." Hell, I'd burn that one before I sell it...

If stuff is kept someplace for a fee and it's not paid, the stuff goes into lien and is auctioned off. I'm in the business - well, not the business of souls exactly but surely it wouldn't be all that different.

Not worth it. I detect that his spirit is filled with baked beans and sauerkraut.

No sauerkraut?

Fuck it, now it's really not worth it.

Kelsi is $3 + S&H
Kayla is $5 + S&H
Brandon is $2 + S&H

Or I'll give you the whole set for $10 + S&H!

What are the S&H charges for a soul? Does it vary by weight, or by volume?

And hey, if you end up burning Blue's soul, I'd love to see the experimental results. What sort of spectral lines are emitted by burning souls? :?:

Simulated spectrum from burning S+O+U+La (there's no L so I had to pick either Li, La, or Lu):

We just recently covered the color spectrum in Astronomy... Well, a few weeks ago, but recent enough.

I didn't even know that you could tell the composition of elements through color, before. Now I understand what you're talking about. It's so cool.

And out and about, those tight spectra are why those sodium and mercury vapor lights over streets and parking lots make colors look so odd.

Yep. It's easy to see why too:

Image
High-pressure sodium (not a particularly good photo)

Image
Mercury

Image
Another common type of lamp, used where high brightness is needed

These work much better for colors, unsurprisingly. :D I see 'em all the time in photocopy places, grocery stores, dollar stores.

How does the cost of a stamp sound to you?

Pretty cool, umop. My mom came up behind me and was like "What are those black rainbows?..."
