None her either:
SpVgg Greuther Fürth 1 - 3 1. FC Kaiserslautern

This is very bad. We are arriving in League Two from above, they are coming up from below. This was a must-win.

Played 24, won 8, drawn 7, lost 9

Funny you should ask that, but in late 1944 my Dad’s mob, the 15th/19th Hussars (the “vulgar fractions”) were the first Allied unit into Eindhoven. At the time the Phillips emblem wasn’t the wavy line thing it is now but an eagle with spread wings, a massive version of which was on top oF the factory. Which looked a lot like an entirely different eagle. The good burghers of Eindhoven wanted this gone so some enterprising tankers attached cables to it and drove off, pulling said eagle from the roof. Drinks all round, etc.
Off course, I’m sure everyone who was anywhere near Nederland at the time claims some involvement. There must have been about seventy tanks and several thousand squadies involved . . .

Detergent, the Scouse Shite and Mafia FC. Could have been worse. Oh and I look forward to more team busses being attacked since PSV will suffer no meaningful sanction. Coincidentally the only other fans who routinely attack team busses are the Scouse Shite.

Ah, excellent. I knew it had been bombed but hadn't heard any of that.

So after watching Ireland do it (twice), Argentina got uppity and decided they could do it too.

Argentina defeats New Zealand in New Zealand, 18-25. They still haven't defeated New Zealand in Argentina (there was a draw in 1985 in Buenos Aires), but they did win against the All Blacks in Sydney all the way back in 2020. (November, so COVID was well underway, thus the unusual location - better to have all the matches in one country, than to have the teams having to travel all over the place.)

History was made today.

Over on the other side of the globe, history merely repeated itself.

Played 27, won 9, drawn 8, lost 10.

I can’t bear thinking about it. What has happened to the younger generation? In the good old days of college rugby, it was a sign of prowess to put your body on the line for the cause - how I first broke my back when I was 16. I had to be sedated on opiates for a week. Can’t believe these kids don’t want to experience all that?

Could have been worse, given the vast financial gulf between the two teams. Hilariously, when they get pumped in Europe, they will complain about the vast financial gulf between them and other teams with absolutely no self-awareness.

Ross County 1 - 4 Celtic

In the wee cup.

Played 32, won 11, drawn 8, lost 13.

So after last week, when Argentina defeated New Zealand in New Zealand for the first time ever, it seems New Zealand must have been seriously annoyed.

This week, justice was administered.

New Zealand 53 - 3 Argentina

Why didn’t they play like that last time?
