Well, El Salvador will play Guatemala today to see who wins the fourth tier of the South American Rugby Championship.

I can't figure out why it's not televised here.

Uruguay and Russia will play in a few hours, to decide who gets the 20th (and final) slot in next year's World Cup.

New Zealand will play the US in Chicago on November 1. I wonder if I can get a cheap air ticket.

They're doing THAT again? Didn't we just do that little futboly thingy recently? I thought that was every four years or something.

Football was this year. Rugby league was in 2013. Rugby union was in 2011, and is due up again next year.

Okay, that makes sense. So the game called football, but that uses a round ball is different from the game _not_ called football, but that uses a football. You RoWers are confusing sometimes.

The Wikipedia page for rugby is called "Rugby football". The page for what you people call "soccer" is titled "Association football".

So they're all a sort of football, even gridiron football

Oh, that changes things. If we can all agree that we all love football, I can ignore the minor differences.

Although maybe you shouldn't try playing Association Football by picking up the ball and barging through your opposition in order to kick the ball between and above the goal bars. It's rather non-productive that way. Also, protexting your family jewels by some sort of whole-body armor wouldn't cut it.

Oh, speaking of which...

Poland 2 - 0 Germany
Scotland 1 - 0 Georgia
Ireland 7 - 0 Gibraltar

Poland and Ireland are leading Scotland and Germany after two matches. So, no tedious group there.

I'm still utterly fed up with Scotland, and still feel that we shouldn't have a football team if we've decided not to be a country. Arneb's post is the first time I've seen the result of that last match.

Noone could have foreseen THAT.

The story behind seems almost too ridiculous to believe: Allegedly, the brother of Albania's Prime Minister was watching the game, for which no Albanian fans had been allowed a contingent, from the VIP lounge. He is said to have steered the drone from there and was later held for questioning. The Sun couldn't make it up any better, and they can make up a lot.

Just noticed this. It would seem that the Kiwi's are a heck of a lot closer to the US in basketball then the US to New Zealand in rugby. On the other hand, the article make it sound like we've got one or two good pieces to start building from. Go, Eagles!

Your team is in Pool B for the World Cup next year. South Africa is in the same pool, and they managed to win four of their six matches in the Rugby Championship this year, including one of the two matches against New Zealand.

The Chicago Sun Times seem a little confused about which country the All Blacks are from.

LLance, if you happen to see Brian Sandalow around town, can you slap him around some?

The England Rugby team have a new player, a Fijian who serves in the British Army and will play for them against the All Blacks tomorrow. Normally this wouldn't concern me, we have had enough players over the years with a loose, tenuous or non-existent link to Scotland. What does rip my knitting is that he is in a Scottish Regiment. Find your own Fijians, he was ours! Bastards.

Quite something to steal somebody from both Fiji and Scotland. If I've said it once, I've said it 18,749 times - perfidious Albion.

It should be noted that both the battalion in the area I live and the one in the area I work have a significant Fijian contingent, partly to bolster their rugby teams. The one turning out for England tomorrow is at least honest about it. He joined the Army out of economic necessity (The British Army - we take anyone, you don't even have to be British!) hoping to make enough to support his family in Fiji, started playing rugby professionally as it paid better and chose England as the financial prospects were greater. On a personal level: Good luck fella. On a team level: Fuck then all.

Fuck you you fucking tagues! Our fucking tague is better than your fucking tague defence, you fucking tague fucks!

Or if you prefer, we beat our near neighbours one - nil.

But really, fuck you, you fucking fucks!

Tomorrow, the All Blacks, I don't think we will win that one.

Perhaps this post needs more "fucks". Or maybe not. Fuck.
