Thanks for that detailled analysis, Mactep. I read on F.A.Z. this morning how England were finally back to gritty defending and fast attacking under their Australian coach, determined to make up for 2015's shame. So I was prepared. Although I admit, with my minimal knowledge of Rugby, I am always surprised when NZ don't win. And I freely admit that Haka makes me almost shit my pants.

That at least seems to be the constant here: North against South, twice.

This the ninth World Cup.

In six cases, both the final and the bronze final have been north against south. The bronze final has at various times included Scotland, Wales, and Argentina, teams that never made the final. In 1995, the final was south against south (South Africa and New Zealand), and the bronze final was north against north (France and England). In 1999, the final was north against south (Australia and France), but the bronze final was south against south (South Africa and New Zealand). Finally, in 2015, all four teams were southern; New Zealand and Australia in the final, and South Africa and Argentina in the bronze final.

My prediction is, England win the final, New Zealand win the bronze final.

Collective record of southern teams in the final is 7-3, and for the northern teams, it is 1-5.

For the bronze final, the southern teams have a 6-3 record, and the northern teams have a 2-5 record.

England are 1-2 in the final, and South Africa are 2-0. New Zealand are 2-1 in the bronze final, and Wales are 1-1.

Rangers 2 - 1 Motherwell

Played 62, won 34, drawn 10, lost 18.

Just the RCC result to come I think. First IRU Derby of the year on Wednesday when County host the ‘Gers.

Five of twelve again. Loosk like consistent underperformance. And Wednesday cannot possibly make anything better because our boys play each other.

A point away from home is always good, though RCC did leave it late.

There is that, yes.

We'll have our Berlin derby, Union - Hertha next weekend. It is a strange derby for its amicability - nothing of the fierce rivalry between the Milan clubs, Dortmund-Schalke, Nürnberg-Fürth, let alon the Old Firm. I heard a radio feature today where they remembered the first time the two clubs played each other: in the early spring of 1990, a friendly in a windy and icy cold Olympiastation, which Hertha won 2-1. The fans didn't form separate blocks, they went to the stadium together, celebrating the opportunity. That was the time in the latter days of East and West Berlin. Since then, Hertha and Union have met in competetive matches only a few times, and the atmosphere was always relaxed and friendly. Let's hope it stays that way. Both need the points desparately - Hertha would be drawn into the relegation zone if they lost, Union are already there, one above the relegation playoff spot, on goal difference only.

Hertha BSC 5 - 4 Dynamo Dresden after penalties.

Nothing did go wrong, but Being Hertha, they made a nail biter out of it. They were down 0 - 1 after the first half, equalized, got ahead, received the equalizer in injury time, got down 2 - 3 in the second half of extra time, scored the e3qualizer seconds from the end, and won the penalty shootout after failing to score once. I am exhausted. And fuck, I am going to count this as a victory.-

Played 67, Won 36, Drawn 12, Lost 19.

Yes, that's a victory. A very Hertha victory but a victory.

Edit: It looks like it was some night at the Olympiastadion.
