20% of the Rugby World Cup group-stage matches played, and no real surprises so far.
Pool A - probably Ireland first, Scotland second, thus advancing to the knock-out stage. My guess is Japan will come in third, and therefore be eliminated, but qualify for the 2023 World Cup in France. Samoa and Russia probably eliminated.
Pool B - probably New Zealand first, South Africa second, advancing to the knock-out stage. Probably Italy third, eliminated but qualified for 2023. Canada and Namibia probably eliminated.
Pool C - maybe the trickiest, but I think - England first, France second, advancing to knock-out stage. Argentina third, qualifying for 2023 but eliminated this year. United States and Tonga probably eliminated.
Pool D - probably Australia first, Wales second, advancing to the knock-out stage. Probably Uruguay third, but a lot of uncertainty about that. Maybe Fiji and Georgia bringing in the bottom two places.
So those are my predictions, with 20% of the group stage completed. Four more matches (bringing us to 30% of the group stage completed) to be played before the weekend.
