Oh, we banged our heads over Hertha and Rangers pretty damn often, didn't we?

Excellent stuff! I'm sorry about those 56 Ross County games.

Oh Rangers contributed a few of those 56. 50% isn't bad for the season, though 17 - 18 can only go downhill from here. Hopefully we'll still be at 100% after tomorrow, though I would take a draw.

If they don't make against it Niederkorn tonight, we can stop counting right there.

Also, it's a 50 % win quota, so what more do we want?

I think we have a month of now until the start of the Scottish League in August, I don't know when Hertha's first qualifier is?

We don't have one :D
By virtue of Dortmund (who are qualified for CL) winning our FA Cup, there is one more place for the Bundesliga in the group phase of the Euro League, and that spot went to Herha. Freiburg, by the same mechanism, won their shot at qualification, entering the competition in the third and last round.

Remember how I counted Dortmund's Cup win as a victory in our count? That was because they really won for us.

It was only against Montrose, from three divisions below us , but still - good to know we can score goals given an opportunity.

Were these test matches or did they count towards anything (except OUR count, of course)?

The were in a cup. It had been a stupid wee cup until we won it in 2015/16, upon which it became a hugely significant tournament. It became a wee cup again in 2016/17, when we were knocked out in the first round.

I see. So for the time being, this is an utterly, life-or-death, if not more, important competition until further notice.

It was still a stupid cup before a ball was kicked this season, that's for sure, but since we've won two games in it so far it's becoming important again.

Last year our manager actually treated the games as if they were pre-season friendlies. He forgot to tell the other managers, though, which may be why we crashed out embarrassingly and immediately against wee teams we should have been knocking six past*.

* Let's not mention this result, though.

Forgot about this, which I actually attended last Friday.

Ross County 0 - 0 Hibs

(County win a bonus point on pens)

Bonus point notwithstanding, I'm sure that's a draw for our purposes - putting us on:

Played 5, won 3, drawn 1, lost 1.

That's something of a tough call UEFA count it that way for their nation ranking, but I counted the penalty victories of our young boys against England as a win in last season's count - it was the only way in which we could reach our famed 50 %. Hey, and was against England :D .

I think a draw for this is right, though. The penalty shoot out "win" doesn't progress you in the tournament, we're still in the group stages - it just gives a bonus point. So Hibs got 1 point for the draw, we got 2 points - 1 for the draw and 1 for the pens.

Yeah, that sounds about right. It's a done deal anyway. You'll win this. Look at how Rangers stampeded thorugh their first Euro... ah never mind.

Exactly . . .

Without wishing to denigrate County, it is only in very recent times that they would be regarded as a bigger team than the Leith Soapdodgers.

Nah, I don't think we are a bigger team at all. We're still a wee team, just come good.
