So, you can imagine, do I. Worse team, half a chance,

Bayer Leverkusen 04 0 - 1 Hertha BSC

Auld Auntie seems to have her bearings back, and we were famous for getting fisted in Leverkusen. 18 pts., almost half the rent.

Half chance but a well taken goal, particularly by a centre half.

Oh, and
Played 98, won 51, drawn 18, lost 29

Second League doesn't play mid-week, so Fürth have no chance to spoil this match day. Next, at home to former top-of-the table Mönchengladbach on Saturday night. Also a team we are famous for being pummelled by.

You should know that German footballers are such sissies that we allow for a four week Christmas break, including training camps in Southern Spain or some God-fucking Emirate. We'll be back on January 17-19.

We have the Leith Soap Dodgers tomorrow night, then probably a couple more games over the festive period.

We're hoping our game this weekend can be postponed, as ten of our first team are afflicted with the lurgy.

Yeah, why is it they always postpone their flu shots for too long?

Oh. dictcc translates lurgy as Schnupfen (sniffles). But I was afraid you were referring to Mr. Noro, as the virus is affectionately known in our family.

I tend to use "lurgy" for any transmittable illness, though that may not be the universal or correct usage.

You haven't, by any chance, been enjoying some alcoholic beverages during the evening?

Because I am in the hospital, standing in for one of our sissy genY assistant dottoressas doing her call night for her as she is indisposed for the task today...and I resent being off my Friday nicht drink

Funnily enough, yes. And the Mem is back from Spain so it is a small celebration Chez Heid. You need better staff . . .

Maybe I should mention that I admitted one patient for suspected acute Pancreatitis last night, and was kept awake by a diabetic fresh out of rehab with a pancreas mummified by the booze who kept pestering us for benzos and opiates for his "unrest" and "headaches". But I won't spoil my own glass(es) of red for tonight.

There was obviously more to it than one tackles when both sets of coaches started shouting and pushing one another. Or they are just Dirty Hibbees.

That's probably the explanation, yes.

Meanwhile,
FC Erzgebirge Aue 3 - 1 SpVgg Greuther Fürth

We are used to getting sliced over in Aue. We'll enter the winter break somewhere between 7th and tenth, 25 points off 18 games. Enough of a padding for the end-of-season fuckups we are wont to produce, and probably enough not to enter relegation territory this year. For once. Still, Fürth's gonna Fürth, so stay tuned for bad news.

Hertha BSC 0 - 0 Borussia Mönchengladbach

Not at all a bad result, Hertha is back with the ability to get on better teams' nerves and drag them down to our level. If this goes on, at least we won't be relegated. But we might not do too much to keep our tally above 50 %...

Played 102, won 52, drawn 19, lost 31

German footie goes into hibernation now, so no chance for my favourite teams to drag our mood doen. Back on Jan 17, 2020.
