Best kind of ship.

It would also significantly improve our win percentage, due to their domination of wur fitba'. But as you say, they don't belong in our tally - until a tattie muncher is permitted to join the board, of course.

OK, if that's the way you like it, how about this one:
Zorya Luhansk 2 - 1 Hertha BSC.

I mean, Luhansk. They're fighting a fucking war over there and they have time to do beat the 6th best Bundesliga team in between rounds of street warfare. I mean, like, really!

Played 58, won 25, drawn 11, lost 22

I'll just our Rangers up for a win now, not wait for the game tomorrow? Sorry, I've been drinking . . .

What a remarkable coincidence! Enjoying the last of my whisky - a highland park Viking honour. Probably best enjoyed *before* the bottles of wine, but hey ho.

And, to round off a very mixed weekend:
SC Freiburg 1 - 1 Hertha BSC

Both goals came after very stupid penalties, so it tells you something about the quality of the match. I guess Hertha's recipe those past two seasons has been to make the other team look even worse. There's limited promise to that approach.

We have no difficulty making the other team look better, which is also a very limited approach.

It's a sorry state of affairs when our best performing team was Ross County.

Arneb's brave heroes take us to:

Played 62, won 26, drawn 12, lost 24.

Oh, and not sure if it counts for our tally, but it was the annual shinty/hurling international on Saturday.

Scotland 2-12 (18) - 0-15 (15) Ireland

Yup! H shaped goals with net in lower half. It’s three points for a goal into the net, and one point for “over the bar” in the top of the H. The scores mean Scotland got 2 goals and 12 of the other for 18 points, Ireland got no goals and 15 of the other for 15 points. Game is an injury packed mixture of shinty and hurling, but it’s great viewing.

Meanwhile, in the German FA Cup:
SpVgg Greuther Fürth 1 - 3 FC Ingolstadt

Easy enough story. Took the lead, bullshitted it away with an unnecessary penalty, got two in the groin shortly before time. But this, too, was an important match. Ingolstadt were relegated from the Bundesliga this years. Stronger team no doubt, but one against which a win was possible, and it would have shown we can hold out against a higher-rated team. Now we can't.

St Johnstone 0 - 0 Ross County

So with Arneb's lot, that takes us to:

Played 64, won 26, drawn 13, lost 25.

Hertha play Cologne tonight, who are last of the Bundesliga table with no wins. Given how great we are at reinvigorating teams in crisis and our gloripus history of fucking up im the Cup, I see a perfect storm coming.

Also, too: the 13 man Concussion Ball World Cup starts on Friday, I'm sure we can all find a team or two to support. Many teams have an Australian born contingent, in the case of Lebanon I think it is 100% from Sydney's Lebanese community. Surprisingly some Pacific Islanders are representing their ancestral islands rather than NZ/Convict Colony which is a welcome change. Australia will probably win it, the Kiwis might make the final while Scotland and the US will be down towards the bottom of the table.

Aren't we a reliable bunch?

Hertha 1 - 3 Cologne.

This is bang-your-head-against-the-wall stuff.

Played 65, won 26, drawn 13, lost 26.

How about being a goal up after 90 minutes and being awarded a penalty and drawing 1-1? That is bang-your-head-against-the-wall stuff.

Played 66, won 26, drawn 14, lost 26.

You got a man sent off too, remember :) An action packed few minutes!

For those interested in scores and such:

I Can't Believe It's Not Rangers 1 - 1 Kilmarnock

And our manager has just been sacked along with his assistants. Probably a good thing but we'll get some old reliable "safe pair of hands" re-tread whose main attraction is being a) Scottish and b) cheap.

I just came here to post that info - I wasn't sure if the news had you popping the champagne corks or rending your garments, as I have seen both of those reactions today.

I have no idea if he is any good or not, and I have no idea who we will get that will be any better. There is talk of Kenny Miller taking over which would at least have some comedy value: he is both Scottish and cheap. The raging optimist in me would like De Boer to take the job to rehabilitate his reputation but we can't afford him even if he wanted it.
