What sports teams do you support?

I have real difficulty watching rugby and the NFL these days because of the brain injuries. The last Superbowl I started to watch must have been a decade ago with a midnight kickoff. MIdnight came; coin toss, adverts, kickoff, adverts, first two plays, injury, adverts. At 0030 I went to bed having seen three plays.
Get it up ye.

Proper sports either have you hurtling downhill on snow or ice to your certain doom, or cooperating with colleagues to get a ball into a net to score a point (or, "goal"). All* other sports can go and fuck themselves.

I consider it a game, and therefore out of scope for this.

Yes, that is typical for American football. Thankfully, this year's Super Bowl had few injuries, although there was one notable and scary head injury. He did eventually leave the field under his own power, but it immediately obvious that he had been knocked senseless if he didn't at least lose consciousness.

For what it's worth, the game was close the whole time, and the Eagles managed to come out on top. It is their first Super Bowl win and the first NFL title for the Eagles since 1960, which was the third-longest drought in the NFL. The commercials weren't all that great, though. Tide probably had the best ads this year. At least, they won the consensus in the Dandy house.

I am, as it happens, off to the woods to watch one this very weekend. Also, I have been to a few rallies, the touring cars once (work do, we sponsored a driver) and two Grand Prix so wheels are an exception, yes.

I have no idea who these people are, they look like Rangers players but for eleven brief seconds they played like the Madrid Royals.

Nice! Check out 01:40 and 03:45 into this for a cracking goal and a lovely assist by our 19 year old winger.

I've got just under 4 hours before any coverage here. Alpine skiing at 10:00pm tonight.

I’m at work when that’s on, but will dip in and out hopefully.

Is this region locked out for you?

ETA - Checked the times, it’s at 2am here so I’ll neither be at work nor watching much of it.

Balls, there have already been luge and ski jump events - two of my favourites - yesterday. No coverage on them here though, until they get going a bit more.

Glad it works. U!S!A! are currently playing too, against The Artist Formerly Known As Russia, no less, and Canada are playing Norway, but for some reason it’s China vs Switzerland that the BBC are showing. At least it’s something!

The link I sent was, I think, specific to a single event (now finished). If you didn't get a "fuck off, you filthy foreigner, don't you know we voted to leave?" message then you might be able to see some stuff via BBC Sports. There's a BBC Sports app too, which I have on my TV. For all their many failings, this sort of thing is something they do well (highly partisan commentary notwithstanding).

They're treating us to the mixed doubles curling tonight in prime time. Because it's THAT good!

Oh, absolutely - but I’m enjoying it, and it’s a good starter before the main course :D

I got a kick of one of the sports pages giving a rundown of all the winter olympic events, they said one of the requirements for curlers was "strong vocal cords".
