Back to sports, Herha caught the 0 -1 shortly before half time against Mainz. Will Auntie never learn?

Hertha BSC 0 - 2 FSV Mainz 05

Once again, Hertha helps a team in crisis along to gain some self-confidence. You're welcome.
You know, sometimes I really wish I didn't have emptional ties to this bunch of Losers. Gurkentruppe!

Played 127, won 49, Drawn 28, lost 50

Ross County 1 - 1 Hearts

We were all over them, and had a goal disallowed for mysterious reasons.

Played 128, won 49, Drawn 29, lost 50

Fortuna Düsseldorf 1 - 1 SpVgg Greuther Fürth

We were up for 80 min or so. Not bad for the 16th-placed team away to the team at the top.

Now if Rangers scramnble to a win, we'll at least have a nice balance again:
Played 129, won 49, Drawn 30, lost 50

Hamilton 3 -5 Rangers. Good to score five, bad to concede three.

Played 130, won 50, drawn 30, lost 50.

Nice and balanced, that. Maybe if we can keep it in this balanced config, our Schland boys can turn the balance black at the World Cup.

Á propos nice and balanced, Germany and Canada shared an Olympic gold medal today: After four runs lasting around 1 min 30 s each, with speeds of up to 80 mph, the German and Canadian 2-man bobsleds finished with EXACTLY the sama aggregate winning times. Congratulations, boys, that was one piece of finetuning work.

ETA - ah, Kathatrina Witt. Great to see her. She was brilliant, and extremely foxy to my early teen eyes.

Well, she can still be quite impressive:

F. A. Z. did a feature on her on Sunday, and asked in which profession she now works. She answered that she it's basically being Katharina Witt for a living. She is doing quite well.

Katharina Witt was a judge on our skating reality show a few years back, she was knowledgeable, witty and charming. So was binned for some shouty no name.

Germany one up in the fucking Olympic hockey semifinal after the first 20. Against Canada.

That can't be right.

A patient I was discharging watched the game into the frantic final minutes, when I came in and switched off the telly to talk shop. When we met again ten min later for discharge papers, she danced and roared FEE-NAAH-LUH, oh-oh. FEEENAAHLUH, oh-oh-oh-oh, (to the tune of Volare Cantare).

Apparently, our Canadian friends acted quite out of character during the final minutes, doing things like playing foul and body checking their German opposition. I am sorry to say I am really concerned, concerned I tell you.

For this special occasion, I'll include the match as a victory and a defeat in our count.
Played 132, won 51, drawn 30, lost 51.

Poor sportsmanship by both our mens & womens hockey teams, horrible showing by mens & womens curling teams.
Some are boasting of record medal haul but it's mostly for fringe events. I'm not a bit impressed.
What a debacle.
Congrats to the USA womens and German mens hockey teams, well done!

Another rare treat:
SpVgg Greuther Fürth 2 - 1 Eintracht Braunschweig

Played 133, won 52, drawn 30, lost 51.

Balance will be restored any minute, Hertha just kicked off against Bayern, in Munich.

Hah! I'd have preferred them to go under today and get three points against Mainz last week, but it's good for morale.

FC Bayern München 0 - 0 Hertha BSC

Played 134, won 52, drawn 31, lost 51.
