We sneaked a late winner against Killlie,

Played 169, won 64, drawn 40, lost 65

As importantly the Sheepshaggers drew with the Leith Soapdodgers which helps us.

SpVgg Greuther Fürth 2 - 2 MSV Duisburg

Bad, bad, bad. Before the last match day, we are in 17th, a direct relegation spot. It's not over yet, because of the tight bottom endo of the table, so 2 teams are in reach if we draw next week (and they lose), 4 if we win (and they don't). But it will be away to a direct competitor, so prepare for an Arneb drowning his sorrows next Sunday.

Played 170, won 64, drawn 41, lost 65

In NHL playoff news, Jets 6, Predators 2. Jets take 3-2 lead in best of 7 conference semi-final. One more win and the Jets go to the western conference final for the first time ever. Yee haw.

Does that include the former Jets (now Coyotes)?

Mark Williams 18 - 16 John Higgins,

in the Finals of the Snooker World Championship, held in the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, England.

Maybe some of you still remember when ten years ago I suffered from glandular fever and was out of business for some four weeks ago. It was a tough disease, but I did several things in order not just to stare at the wall. I digitzed all my old vinyl records at that time, and we had some discussions about the subject. Mactep suggested I buy the CDs instead for small money, and by and large, he was right, and it's what I did in the. The recordings have mostly still not been converted.

Anyway, during that illness, I discovered my love for snooker. In my somewhat stuporous state, the hypnotic calm and subtle suspense of the game captured my attention and kept me focused without being loud, fast, sweaty, or violent. I coulsd sit still for hours, forget the pain and just watch the balls roll by and admire the players for their attitude, their discipline and their composure. Johnny "The Rocket" O'Sullivan won against Ali Carter that year. Of course, I had rooted for the underdog, and suffered with him, as most times.

I haven't watched a lot of Snooker since, but somehow, I got to watch a few sessions this year. I still like it, not only for the fond memories. This year's Final was very, very tight, and I loved every minute I was on. Of course I was rooting for Higgins, the Scotsman (D'oh), and he did some very amazing things, but his opponent held up admirably. It was great, so I recommend it to the house, even if Lianachan will object that it's a game, not a sport.

I rarely watch snooker these days, but my father always did as he grew up in a billiard hall where his father was the caretaker. I have fond memories of watching the old BBC snooker show "Pot Black" with him. In black and white. Surprisingly you could almost always tell which ball was which, partly from where they were and partly the various shades of grey were different enough.

Rangers are at the Sheepshaggers tonight in a game that isn’t quite must win but is certainly a really could fucking do with a win. We gave away an early penalty and have just equalised.

Ok so we drew and are still in third a point behind Aberdeen. In the final game of the season we are away to the Leith Soap Dodgers and the Sheepshaggers are away to Sellick. So we need to do better than they do to finish second.

Played 171, won 64, drawn 42, lost 65.

Nope. Coyotes have been to the conference finals once, which they lost. 2011-2012

Jets missed their chance last night and will now have to win a game 7 in Nashville to advance to conference final against Vegas.

Nashville -v- Vegas shouldn't be a hockey fixture.

Hearts beat The Leith Soapdodgers which means if we don’t lose to them by ten goals at the weekend we finish above them. If we do better than Aberdeen in terms of points gained on the day then we finish second.

Hertha BSC 2 - 6 RB Leipzig

That was just disgraceful. They gave the match away, knowing we are locked in tenth. Leipzig, for whom everything from qualifying for CL down to not visiting Europe at all was on the table, couldn't have wished for a better club to visit (They ended up in 6th, which is either European League quali round two or direct group qualification, depending on the result of the Cup Final next week).

And that's ist for this year's Bundesliga. We lead the second half of the table, and things looked a lot worse in winter. Europe is nowhere near, and won't be with this coach and a team that seems to think that, by and large, earning a million a year and not being relegated is all you need for a nice life. Munich won again, with a 21-point-lead, and Schalke, although playing a thoroughly boring and tactical game, ended up 2nd - another eight points above surprise team Hoffenheim and Dortmund, who, by their standards, played an absolutely subterranean season. Cologne are relegated in last place right above the only club which so far managed to play in the Bundesliga for all 55 seasons straight. Thus passeth the glory of the world. The last spot in the Bundesliga is played off between Wolfsburg and Kiel, which couldn't be more boring.

Fürth's death match tomorrow, so far

Played 172, won 64, drawn 42, lost 66.

Allmächd naa, mir ham's g'schaffd!

FC Heidenheim 1 - 1 SpVgg Greuther Fürth

Fürth finish in 15th, with 40 points, just as many as Erzgebirge Aue in 16th, but 3 goals better than Aue, who will play off Karlsruher Sport-Club for the last remaining spot in the Second League.

We scored early in the second half. in the 84th minute, Duisburg scored against Aue, which meant that both Heidenheim and Fürth would be safe in the case of a draw. Sure enough, Heidenheim's equalizer came five minutes later, and Aue didn't come back. So the rule that you aren't relegated with 40 points will hold true IF Aue survive the two play-off matches.

I love those nail-biters when they are over...

Played 173, won 64, drawn 43, lost 66.

The Sheepshaggers beat Sellick so we would finish third if we didn't lose to The Leith Soapdodgers by six goals or more. They were three up after 22 minutes, we scored the next five, they got the last two so 5 - 5.

Ross Chuffing Countylost drew and were relegated, not surprising since they have been at the bottom all season and in last place for some of it. No IrU Derby next year though we could meet in one or other cup. I think those were the last matches this season for both of us.

Played 175, won 64, drawn 45, lost 66.

Edit to correct RCC's loss to a draw.

Sorry, I was sure you had lost. I think I was confused since there was a while you were winning and they were drawing.
