That would be a nice turn of events, but I doubt Die Mannschaft is still good enough für Jürgen Klopp. I don't think they'll be able to think as far as Gerrard, but maybe, just maybe, they'll try to lure Kovac, revently fired from Bayern, back into the Hauptstadt.

ETA: Hertha one place above the relegation spot - on goal difference...

Some Serbian team playing Tottenham at Football. I don’t know whether what I’m watching is live or a replay.

I don’t know whom I support, but I know who is going to win (Tottenham).

It must be a replay, they played the Hammers on Saturday.

Looking good for the Blue Bombers, I wonder if I can get a bet on?

Oh my giddy Ault Auntie: Hertha have fired their manager and installed Jürgen Klinsmann as his successor. That's a surefire relegation, if you ask for my bet.

Edit - OTOH maybe not. He brings two able assistants, one of whom coached Werder Bremen for some time but was ultimately sacked; Andreas Köpcke as goalie coach straight from the national team; and Arne Friedrich, an old Hertha hand, as "performance manager". Or whatever.

Didn't you just appoint some bloke who was a local legend? Ah, new owner, of course. Let's hope Der Stuka gets through his press conference without diving.

Yeah, the local guy is the one who got fired today after getting 11 points off ten games. Der Stuka (never heard that nickname) was out in the bitter rain and wind this afternoon, drilling his team. Goodbye, sunny California.

It's a nickname he picked up early in his career in England as he was perceived to dive in the box. He played up to it sometimes by diving to celebrate goals.

Yes, i remember he acquired a reputation for diving, but I never heard of Der Stuka.

Interesting weekend ahead. Hertha are at home to Borussia Dortmund, who were pummeled by Barcelona yesterday, 3 - 1, three days after being pummeled, 0-4 (!) at home (!!) to last-placed (!!!) Paderborn (!!!!). Their manager seems to be on the home stretch for being fired. Usually, a team in crisis with the manager firing ahead of them go under when being met by a team who have their manager firing behind them, but since it's Hertha they are visiting, it's dubious. Very dubious.

Short version: It's Hertha, it's dubious. Very dubious.

We're away to Feyenoord in a couple of hours, it could realistically be any result.

I think we should put this sentence on speed dial.

Currently two all and it could still be any result.

We should have been hosed by halftime got it to two one up, then they equalised. We are somehow top of the group but still might not go through since the group is so close.

Feyenoord 2 - 2 Rangers

Played 83, won 43, drawn 15, lost 25.

Hertha BSC 1 - 2 BV Borussia Dortmund 09

It is Hertha, so we all knew it would be iffy. But at home, with pne man more for an entire half? Thar's a öot of work ahead of Klinsi.

Played 84 , Won 43, Drawn 15, Lost 26

EM group draw:

Germany
France
Portugal
T.b.d. (Iceland/Bulagaria/Z

This is unacceptable, I'll demand a redraw. If there is one law in international football, it is that Germany get drawn into easy groups. What has the world come to?

This is shaping up to be a really, really, shitty weekend.

Present and correct.

Rangers 5 - 0 Hertz

Played 87, won 44, drawn 15, lost 28

I’ve been watching us drift down towards 50% wins. Unfortunately RCC are up with the big boys and not in the Very Wee Cup this season.
