Ok, his name is Ralph Shanabarger. Is that German or Jewish? I don't know.

He was the man I knew after my parents split as mother's boyfriend. THIS IS REALLY HARD FOR ME TO WRITE.

There's a Ralph W Shanabarger in Bremen, Indiana. I called the number, and it's out of service (even with the new area code).

The Ralph I knew was from Northern Indiana.

I remember him looking like Jesus Christ. OMG. He was a baker.

Rumor is that he is in prison (could be Indiana or Illinois). I wish I knew.

Ralph has tried to contact me through out the years, but I never gave it a second thought.

When my mother was up to see me for graduation, I told her I kept getting these weird phone calls from a prison.

It just pulls at my guts everyday wondering if this man is my father.

If you've read anything I've ever wrote, I told you all my fraternal grandfather was extremely mean to me while growing up. Could this be why?

I checked the State Prison records in Illinois and Indiana. While Illinois had a message that the inmate had been released there was no history presented as to what he was in jail for or if he had been there at all.
Indiana on the other hand said that he was not now an inmate but did give this info.

Please do. It's him, mom and him were dope adicts when I was growing up. I remember that much.

I used to pray to God at the Pentecostal Church that my mother would come home safe to me when I was little. She had this fur coat that I would sleep with just to feel safe because she was always gone.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm hoping the same doesn't happen to my neice and nephew. My sister is really self serving and doesn't give any thought of what effect her actions will have on others. She's not into drugs or anything but makes some bone headed life choices.

Trust me, kids know and feel everything. They just don't know until they get dysfunctional. Best to help them while they're young.

I do things with them every chance I get, spend as much time as I can with them. Problem is my sister is talking about moving to Florida with them. She's got no prospects down there she's just doing because she has problems with our mother. If she moves there I will still do what I can to make sure she doesn't ruin them completely. I've already worked it out so I can make it down there every couple of weeks and visit with them on the weekends. Just got to get a more economical car to make the trips tho.
