Hello, Candy. I have read so many of your posts I feel like I know you :D

You didn't read my last few before getting banned from the BABB, did you? I blame it on temporary insanity and the week long visit with my bible toting mother.

Well, I thought I did, and I'm rather hard pressed to see the banning offense there. Maybe I didn't read the right posts.

I blame it on temporary insanity and the week long visit with my bible toting mother.

Well, I can understand that. I live in fear every time my in-laws visit that they will explain their theories on the inherent wickedness of Islam to my middle-eastern neighbors.

But hey, if BABB doesn't want you, that just means you have more time to hang out here with us. :D

My mother has a strict Pentacostal upbringing, and so do I. Mother was a hippy, though, when I became enthralled in religion. I would go to church with the neighbors. My head just gets so confused when I have to think about my upbringing.

I distanced myself from the family back in February of 2001. Since I went back to school and graduated, I felt obligated to invite them up to Chicago from Lafayette for the big day. BIG MISTAKE! It's like all the healing that I have done just vanished. I snapped! God, I'm getting upset all over again just thinking about it.

The relatives and woos you will always have with you :( Maybe a few individuals can be turned around, but the path of wisdom lies not in fixing every problem person, but in not letting the problem people bother you. Now, if I could only follow that advice myself... :(

My evil sister called a few days ago. That was the first thing I told the "family" when they came up for graduation, they were not allowed to bring HER.

The last I talked to her, she told me she had something very special for me. She said it in such a weird way that I thought she intended to kill me. So I cut the strings real fast.

She has always hated me. Killing is not something new to my family - they just haven't been caught, yet.

She called to tell me she works with the guy I knew way back when... James Dumas!

I just thought it was funny (read the link)!

I have two little half-sisters that are OKAY. They actually follow in my footsteps with high school and college. I must set an example for the young and intelligent. 8)

Um, I hope you are not serious about that...

And did he pronounce the name the way it was pronounced in the film version of The Shawshank Redemption?

I'm serious. We have a long string of murderers in my family tree. See the Cornell (my mother) family tree - you'll see Borden's and more. My family tree goes back to horse thieving.

Horse thieves got hung!

We also started a University.

Wow, just thinking about this makes me realize there are good off-spring, too. So, perhaps, I'm not cursed.

Well, all I can say is, I hope this phenomenon has been pruned from the family tree in recent years

I have no idea, we were drunk all the time. I just called him Dumb Ass. My older sister doesn't even know how to say his last name.

His mother lives in New York and still writes - I remember that much. :)

I'll guess Cornell, as she mentioned that particular family name.

I will merge these posts with that thread.

Cornell is just a name now, but it will soon die out. I should give him a jing. Perhaps, I could be the next in line... 8)

I hope you mean hanged because my Dad's family is from horse country and we never rewarded horse thieves before :) .

If it make you feel better - I have a relative in PA that got hanged fro stealing chickens. From family lore, he was one dumb SOB.
