We be cultured now

Postby wring » Sat Mar 12, 2011 2:07 am

Enzo and I are heading to Ann Arbor tomorrow to hear my brother's lovely eldest daughter sing Opera.

Now that I drive a Lexus, I have become far more cultured. Enzo's along for the heated seats.

Wow! A lot of talent, a lot of dedication, I assume. 8)

Um, which opera / role?

My wife will not be joining them onstage, she tells me. How will we know the opera is over then?

hmmm... I wonder if anyone has written an opera where they use tube amps (and of course electric geetars)?
A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station.

If you are seeing an apparent paradox, that means you are missing something.

Tubes:
Other than works by The Who? I tell you, this girl had the whole 100 watts going.

I tell you, I am now so freaking full of culture, I might just have to feign an accent the rest of the week, and perhaps sport an ascot.

I was fascinated, our lovely niece standing alone but for her piano accompaniment, belting out these songs. What a powerful voice! She normally speaks barely above a whisper. I didn't follow in the lyric/translation sheet, I just listened and watched the stage. This is not my music, but it is strong stuff.
