You're so cute, Mr. Manly. The dog is of a beautiful breed. I got bit by a dog when I was younger, so I am a puppy only lover now.

I recommend Valium . . . for the cats, not you. :)

I will never ever give tranquilizers to a cat again after an experience I had with George and Jesse while moving them from Orlando to Dallas in 1989. I gave both of them the vet recommended dosage before we hit the road in Orlando. Well...about five or six hours into the trip, I noticed that one of them (I can't remember which one) wouldn't wake up. I picked him up and he was as limp as a wet noodle. I thought I had killed him with the tranquilizer. Mercifully, he woke up after a bit. That scared me half to death.

When I moved Melville, Kitten, and Greenwood from Tulsa to Dallas a little over a year ago, they meowed loudly the whole trip. I bought a portable CD player, put the headphones on, and cranked the volume. Better to have them meowing than drugged out of their minds. Not one of them likes being in a cat carrier.

It's quite a coincidence you all started posting pictures of your pets. I ordered my first digital camera and it just arrived at my front door a couple hours ago. Needing a subject to test out the camera I went straight for my cat, Amanda. Here she is:

She's 21 years old and still doing fine. We've covered about 1,500 miles in moves over the years.

This is what I usually have to deal with while I'm trying to work.

Anyone else have this problem? :D

...and they're not.

I had to replace two screens in the apartment before I moved out. Cute little Greenwood decided that they made excellent things to claw. Luckily, it was a cheap fix - a couple of feet of screen material and a tool.

You should see what they are trying to do to my love seat and couch. I buy them scratching posts, but they ignore them.

Nice photo, Bob B. I could help you resize the photo, so it won't eat up so much of your bandwidth. Fifi would actually lay on my laptop keyboard area. I would hear the bing bing bing noise, and see the sleeping culprit.

Same here with the scratching boards. I finally broke down and bought her cheap chairs to tear up. They are located in each bedroom. I have leather furniture, which seems to help her not scratch in the living room.

We have four. In a 30's-era 3-bedroom townhouse.
