The Aged Parent (87 years old) didn't quite get the hang of lookie-lookie men, she didn't grasp that Prada and Gucci are high end products and unlikely to be sold on the promenade. She did speak her rather archaic 1930s french to the Senegalese lad who seemed a bit bemused by it all; though they were both happy with the price.
