How to speak squirrel. The chat up line at the end of the article is worth remembering, too.

Interesting stuff. One of our cats chases squirrrels but it is very obviously not trying to catch them.
Get it up ye.

We observed the same phenomenon among our cats, when we lived down the street from Llance.

One of them caught a parakeet, which was slightly unusual for the great lakes region of the US. We were able to liberate it.

Don’t fear me. I’m just looking to copulate.

yeah, I have had pretty limited success with that one in the bars.

I seem to recall a show on Nat Geo TV about meerkats (who else?) and their language. The are always watching their envorinment, and they had different calls for say a hawk versus a snake or coyote.

"Muk-muk: Both a sound that baby squirrels make when they want to nurse and male squirrels make when they want to mate."

LoL

If you are seeing an apparent paradox, that means you are missing something.

And for car insurance.

Um... I don't think we have meerkat insurance here.

In the USA car insurance is largely sold by a lizard and a big-hair diner waitress.

There is a company called"Compare the Market" who have a long running campaign involving a meerkat who runs a site called "Compare the Meerkat". It used to be funny but it has gone on too long and the new campaign makes no sense whatsoever. And the meerkats all have East European accents and names.

I think it's even more annoying than when "Go Compare" was at it's height of annoyance. And, as any fule kno, that's really fucking saying something.

Ah. We have GEICO insurance, and they have this spokes-lizard who is supposed to be a Gecko. It started out years ago that he was supposedly always being confused with Geico... or something. But now I think that is all faded away and we all just accept that we have a corporate officer who is a lizard.
