Who Turned Out The Lights?

Postby Lianachan » Fri Mar 20, 2015 1:41 pm

A dragon ate the Sun today, almost all of it. Fortunately, it very quickly spat it back out. Too cloudy by far to have seen any of it, but it did become considerably darker than usual. There isn't a total one here until 2090, which I am unlikely to see, but there are numerous partial ones before then (including an annular in 2048 that I may stick around for).

I was driving and it got a bit murky but not that dark. Cloud cover was such that the eclipse was sometimes visible through thin cloud but often obscured by the thicker stuff.
Get it up ye.

I was driving to the office during the early stages of the eclipse, but by the time it reached its midpoint I was standing outside in the near dark, frowning at thick clouds.

*Edited for crude joke WARNING WARNING rude word enclosed:
Spoiler:
as opposed to what I had been doing inside, which was frowning at thick cunts

Hey, that one's almost as good as The Onion.

Did several Highly Morally Inappropriate and Professionally Unacceptable things today in order to watch the eclipse on aclear, sunny day here in leafy Babelsberg. Stay tooned for more from the Drarnebs after these messages.

When the eclipse was at its peak, it was completely dark here. So much so that you could see the stars.

There's one coming up in 2017, and if it works out, we'll probably make arrangements to stay at my in-laws in Gillette, and go to Douglas, WY for totality. Even if the weather doesn't cooperate, we'll knock out a family visit.

I've already filed an application for a foreign visit grant with my wife for that special moment. My son is eagerly supporting the application.
