On thin ice

For no reason I can think of tonight, I started thinking about Katarina Witt. She has that certain je sais quoi that speaks to me more than say Tara Lipinski. I mentioned this to the wife, and it was she that pointed out I was skating on thin ice.

Katherine Witt was a judge on a celebrity skating game show (yes I know) in the UK and was actually very good and quite funny. Which of course meant she was dropped after one season and replaced by someone "wacky" who had no idea what they were talking about.

I recall when she was skating for the East Germans, she would interview and spout some of the regular rhetoric from over there about decadent Americans and so on. After the unification, she toned down. Looked great, whatever her views.
