Start Logic (B O A R D E R P A T R O L SHOOTING ILLEGALS?)

Don't use startlogic if you want a web site.

StartLogic took my web site, gelsana.com offline.

I called them and their legal department sent me an email:

Dear Customer,

As you know your account has been suspended for hosting copywritten
music and warez. I will have your account reinstated once you fill
out the attached Declaration agreeing to remove the prohibited
content and changing your password immediately. Our fax number is
602-307-5243.

Sincerely,

Rene

Startlogic

None of this is true.

So I wrote back:

Rene,

Show me what warez I have had on my site. Show me what copywritten music I have had on my site. Do this and I will fax this document back to you. If you cannot do this, I feel I am entitled to some sort of financal compensation for what you have done. I am not a software pirate and I am not an outlaw. As far as I know nothing on my web site is illegal and I resent your accusation. I also resent the fact that I am locked out unexpectedly from using this web site since I use it for work to provide income for myself, my wife and my son.

--Bill Thompson

They did not email me back and they brought gelsana.com back on line.

Living in San Diego, I can tell you it is usually the other way around. Drug and people smuggler we shoot at the Border Patrol. We had another shot just a couple of days ago. Anyone with property on the border can give you even more stories about their houses being broken into and their dogs being killed.

About the Border Patrol shootings:

I am posting this here too.

There is a very twisted practice in some socialist/communist/leftist countries where they accuse other countries of what they are guilty of. This is a topic that needs to be addressed, perhaps.

I know, for instance, that Mexican Border Patrols are not too friendly to the small Central American countries they border to the south. And also, I hear that if you are an American crossing into Mexico to the north, they put you in jail and you have to have your family in The States pay for or send you food to survive. Finally, Brazil, I hear really does shoot people crossing into their country from Paraguay and other countries -- according to photos I see on ogrish.com

Have you tried contacting the producers of that show? Do they really think propaganda like that is entertaining?

It seems that my web site really was hacked into. But they could have dealt with the situation a little differently.

So let's shift the focus to the topic about the Brazilian Soap Opera.

This forum is a good start to getting a manuscript together. Maybe we can get them to air a retraction.

Let's first get some stats and some facts together. Like, that bit about what the illegals REALLY do and what the Boarder Patrol REALLY does. Is a good start. I will bet my translators to translate into Portuguese and we will start emailing to:

(reprint from my other web site, completetranslations.com)

I was once asked if US Border Patrol officers shoot Illegals coming into the United States. I said that I had heard of a case in California when some high school kids rounded up some Illegals and frightened them as a prank and then later got into some serious trouble (the kids, not the Illegals). So I doubted that there were ever a case when US Border Patrol officers ever really shot any Illegals .

I was asked this because of the Brazilian soap opera, "América", on Brazilian television which showed this happening.

Well, weeks went by before I saw the clip of what this person was talking about. And it was worse than I had imagined. I mean, the Boarder Patrol is lined up execution style shooting into the Rio Grande under the cover of night.

It is both absurdly amusing as it is incredably confusing and hard to understand why something like this would be produced.

I found a possible explanation of all this online:

The New Second Front in the War Against Terrorism
Incoming President of Brazil Supports Terrorism and Will Implement Anti-American Policies
by David T. Pyne, Esq., Columnist, Legal Analyst and
President of the Center for the National Security Interest

December 19, 2002

At the meeting between President Bush and President Elect Lula da Silva of Brazil at the White House Tuesday, the US called for increased cooperation between the US and Brazil in counterterrorist and counternarcotic efforts. This is especially ironic considering that last December, Lula led a meeting of his Forum of Sao Paulo organization he founded in Cuba at which all of the participants including representatives from every Communist-aligned party and radical terrorist group in Latin America including the FARC and ELN narcoterrorists express their united opposition to the US-led war on terrorism. Representatives from terrorist groups from Europe and the Middle East and from rogue states and state sponsors of terror including Iraq, Cuba, Libya and North Korea were also in attendance at the meetings of this group both last year and earlier this month in Guatemala.

Constantine Menges, a noted Latin America analyst, has reported that this year's meeting of the Forum of Sao Paulo included condemnations of NATO troops who they allege "perpetrated genocide in Kosovo" and US troops who they alleged "massacred the population of Afghanistan" and "torture" the captured Al Queda prisoners in Guantanamo. The Forum also alleged that "Israel continues to carry out a systematic policy of murdering Palestinians…with full US support." The Forum concluded by condemning President George W. Bush and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, in no uncertain terms as the "axis of evil." Since this group was formed by Lula himself in 1990 to coordinate the advance of Marxism in Latin America, we can be confident that Lula shares many if not most of their views and that many of these positions will be adopted by the incoming Lula administration as it strengthens its hold on power. Menges also reports that Lula's political party, the PT, has established a committee in solidarity with the FARC and ELN Communist insurgents in Columbia. It has expressed full solidarity with Yassir Arafat and the PLO. Three years ago, the PT established a party-to-party "strategic partnership" with the Communist Party of China.

While still serving as US Assistant Secretary of State Otto Reich met with Lula a few weeks ago in preparation for his summit with President Bush. Reich stated that the Administration actually wants to increase cooperation with Brazil over security issues citing "information that there are people in Brazil that are giving financial assistance to terrorist groups in the Middle East, specifically to Hezbollah." The border between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay is viewed by the State Department as a "focal point for Islamic extremism." Brazil has denied well-supported US allegations that terrorist organizations are operating in the country.

Reich brought a message of support for Lula and stated the US could use its influence with international leaders to increase financial aid to Brazil. Reich stated that because Brazil was a world economic power, "to the extent Brazil is weak, it hurts us." He promised "we are going to do everything we can to help." Shortly after Reich's meeting with Lula, the World Bank declared its willingness to provide an additional $10 billion over and above the $30 billion it promised in September to shore up Brazil's shaky economy. Reich has downplayed comparisons between Lula, a longtime Marxist firebrand and Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez who was also democratically elected but who has since ruled as an authoritarian and employed extraconstitutional and undemocratic means to retain his hold on power. This despite the fact that Lula in addition to expressing his admiration for Fidel Castro has cited his good friend, Chavez as "an example to emulate" if he were to be elected President.

It is increasingly apparent that beginning next month when the newly elected Marxist President-Elects of Brazil and Ecuador are sworn into power, Latin America will be fast on its way to becoming America's new second front in the war against terrorism. That being the case, it will be imperative that Latin America assumes its rightful place on the forefront of America's foreign policy concerns behind only the Sino-Russian axis of nations in importance. America cannot afford to neglect what is going on with its southern neighbors any longer. The price of that neglect has already been far too high-another 190 million people are set to fall under Marxist domination-a disaster for the cause of freedom, which has been unparalleled during the past fifty years. The Administration must act quickly to shore up our continental defenses by withdrawing tens of thousands of American troops from Europe, the Middle East and Asia and re-occupy the Panama Canal, which is well on its way to becoming the new front line in America's war against global terrorism. ***

But all this comes from a country that has made a statue of Arafat, a man whom even the Palestinians have come to realise was a burden to the people he was supposed to be leading.

In this photo released by the Municipality of Paraiba do Sul, Brazilian Sculptor Ivan Pinto poses next to the cast of a statue of the late Yasser Arafat at his studio in Paraiba do Sul, 400 kilometers (250 miles) northeast of Sao Paulo in Rio de Janeiro state, Thursday, Dec. 20, 2004 . . . (AP Photo/Muncipality of Paraiba do Sul, Gustavo Leal da Silva, HO)

When I saw this story, I just could not believe that reasonable people well outside the hemisphere of the Middle East, could possibly see the late Yassir Arafat as someone to memorialize and pay tribute to, in statue form.

Thank goodness the pigeons will have something to crap on.

Manhunt For Border Patrol Shooting Suspect

Last Updated:
06-03-05 at 1:43PM

A manhunt is underway Friday for an armed man who shot a border patrol agent in the leg during a confrontation in southeastern San Diego County, according to officials.

The shooting happened at about 8 a.m. near the intersection of Tierra del Sol Road and Old Highway 80 in the Live Oak Springs area, officials from both the U.S. Border Patrol and the Sheriff's Department.

The wounded agent was taken to a local hospital. He is said to be "doing fine," according to USBP public affairs officer Raul Martinez.

"It appears that he was shot by some type of shotgun in the …calf area," he said.

The suspect left the scene in a truck that officers found a short distance away. The vehicle was reportedly carrying an illicit drug.

I would also suggest looking at: http://www.usborderpatrol.com some may think this site is a little over the top but it is run by present and former border patrol agents.

A couple of new things come to mind.

(#1) I have never met a Brazilian that has entered the United States via the Rio Grande. They fly in to Florida usually. But if they cannot travel by air and if they are lucky enough or patient enough or strong enough to make it all the way to North America from Brazil they always cross the border in Southern California. If they have made it that far they would have a clear option between riding, walking, or wading through mud. And someone from the Brazilian culture would be too proud to wade through mud.

(#2) Maybe the writers have the countries confused. I have heard stories of Mexicans shooting illegals crossing THEIR southern border. Maybe those tales have made their way to Brazil and either some details were lost or changed or the writers did not want to throw another country into the plot of the soap opera.

For recreation we redneck in San Diego sometime have these little events called "Light up the Border" where we get in our pickup truck and park along the border. We shoot them up with our HEADLIGHTS because we are civilized people and not barbarians who kill on sight.

But don't get caught in on the other side of that border - we had a Marine Sgt Brian Johnston in November 1999. He was called down to the border to pick up some Marines who had too much to drink. The Mexican border patrol - who had called for a Marine Shore Patrolman to pick up these Marines - had him pull over at the border station and promptly arrested him for bringing a weapon into Mexico. It took a long time to get him out and the Mexican government can not find the truck or the weapon they took from him. If Mexican military forces cross the border (and it happens) they are escorted back in a friendly fashion. In California we have something like 300 murders where the suspect ran back to Mexico and can not be sent back because we have the death penalty or life in prison without parol.

When I was a teenager I had a job (gas station, restaurant bus boy, etc) like most people my age. A teenager today can't get a job in California due the large number of illegal aliens.

Sorry for the rant but this is my pet peeve.
