The eyes have it

Postby Enzo » Sat Jul 15, 2017 5:55 pm

Wring goes through hundreds of rubber duckies, and we got a large box of them this morning. She is a "valued customer" and they occasionally toss in freebie extras.

Like today. She opens her box and announces the free gift, which she then tossed at me.

It was a bag of eyes.

Ah, so THAT"S where you get the "Jesus Lives" rubber ducks!

well, some one can get them. I don't get any of the religious ones and usually not the 'ribbon' ones (have gotten some of the ribbon ones in assorted sets). The religious I avoid in general 'cause I don't want to get into a discussion when handing out ducks (on second thought, though I have gotten the Noah's ark set and the nativity sets, but for specific purposes- the Noah's has a great assortment of animal ones and only one Noah, which I've given to the kids of the church group that comes and feeds us) and I avoid the ribbon ones 'cause they're boring.

I usually look at their religious offering with a cynical eye. One of my favorite items is the little packets of after dinner mints, each with a bible verse on the package. They are called, "Test-a-mints".

Oh yeah, you slap "Jesus" on something and they will stumble over one another to throw money at it. Peter Popoff comes to mind. He was the one caught red handed defrauding his followers, and yet, some years later he is back to hawking miracle water.
