Flurries and near-freezing temps here today. Sounds like the story for the rest of the week, here. As long as it doesn't accumulate, they'll keep combining corn.

Gonna be freeze the next few days. Had momentary accumulation of small hail on the cars the other day as a front went through.

Corn has been hitting the elevators lately.

I saw a field where they had baled the cornstalks this year (big round bales).
I've never ever seen that before, I imagine they are to be shipped somewhere.

Possibly. If they have livestock, they might use it themselves. We tried it for a couple of years, but it was hard on the baler, and the cattle didn't like it as well regular hay bales.

It's also possible they are meant for fuel in an outdoor boiler. Quite a few here are now running in-floor heat with large outdoor boilers that can burn pretty much anything.

Round ones about 5' high have been standard here for years, no idea what farmers do with them.

Two things outside of my daily experience nowadays - inches and snow.

Snow can be made into water, and as far as I know, Scotch is measured in fingers.

Gulf Stream keeps us all nice and cozy here, if wet.

Corn is about half in, and lots of soy beans still in the fields, though lots are in as well.
