Decadence

We may have mentioned that wring makes mustard. She makes up batches of prepared mustard for use and as gifts to friends and family. Horseradish mustard. garlic mustard, sweet "pub-style" mustard, cranberry mustard. Wring's lawyer buddy likes the stuff, so we met him at the brewery next door last week to give him some cranberry style. When he heard she also made garlic, he ooohed and asked for some, so this past afternoon we arranged to meet him again at the brewery.

Now the place is "next door", as in no structures between there and our apartment building. But there is his parking lot, so it is about half a block to walk. About ten cars side by side.

Just a flannel shirt today as it was in the 60s. But as we came out our door to walk over there, it was pouring rain, raining hard. So we thought, "Let's drive."

So we did.

Ran to the car, drove over to their lot and parked next to the building, and ran inside.

I feel pretty decadent, driving next door.

On the other hand, Mr.Lawyer was happy to get his mustard, and sprang for our brown ales.

And we barely got wet.

Too bad they don't make some kind of device that could shield you from the rain when walking outside. It could be some kind of pole to elevate it above your head, with some kind of expandable canopy on top.

You mean something like this, but for people?

I disagree. I think we have a great business idea right there. If we could somehow mange to make the canopy collapsible, you could easily carry the device with you even if you don't need it.

Needs some high manufacturing technology though.

Yes, yes, we should work on this.

I've owned such devices in the past, but always forget them somewhere.

I actually thought of obtaining such a device, but then I had an additional thought - straining the system at that - I'd have to go outside to the device store in the rain to get it.
