I hate it when DDD scores three goals, but that was a fine game. Did you see how Costa checked into Pepe's Adam's apple at full speed before scoring the 1 - 1? That was one fine bit of wrestling, especially when Pepe, after being hit on the larynx grabbed his head writhing in pain, because that's what he does, regardless of where it hurts.

As soon as he realised the ref wasn’t buying it and the game was carrying on, I notice, he leapt back to his feet, miraculously healed.

First use of VAR as a clear non-penalty is awarded to France. I thought this kind of technology was supposed to make sure that sort of thing didn’t happen.
