Resolved: Board width

Resolved: Board width

Postby frogesque » Mon Jun 20, 2005 7:27 pm

Just a wee niggle, the main page width is a little too large for 800 x 600 screen resolution and I have to side scroll. I'm still on a 15" monitor and to go to 1024 x 768 makes everthing to small.

This page is fine

Okay frogesque, let me see what I can do.

Can you tell me which browser you are using?

Well that's interesting...

I can understand why the main page is too wide but I can't understand why this page isn't.

OK, I've done a couple of screen shots and pasted them in a Word doc here, hopefully it will give you a better idea what I'm seeing my end.

Let me know if you have probs opening it.

Most pages seem to be alright, it's just the main index page

Okay, that helps me see what's happening. I still don't know why though. Perhaps we can get into chat together and I can try a few things to try and isolate it.

Okay frogesque, try this:

Log out of the forum.

That will replace the top box, the one labeled "Welcome Back frogesque", with one labeled "Log in".

The "Log in" box is narrower than the one that contains all the statistical data. This will either eliminate or confirm the data box as the source of the width problem.

Let me know...

LOL: My Spell Checker keeps trying to change frogesque to grotesque. You've probably seen that before though.

Sorry, no change. I still have to do a sidescroll on both log-out and log-in.

'cause you're special?

It has to do with the resolution the monitor is set at. Basically, frogesque's monitor is smaller than yours.

Lance, can you make your board like the BA's board, but keep the pretty?

Your board is outstanding when it comes to aesthetics (is this the right word)! :D

Believe it or not, it's not the left side menu that's causing the problem. It's the header.

...I'll get to it.
