1. What's with the meta-redirection page and message whenever I click on the "look at the unread messages" icon for a thread?

2. What happened to the little icon to the left of the URL in the location field of my browser? We seem to have lost that when we moved.

That's a function of phpBB but you normally don't see it. The particular server I have this running on is a ~400MHz PII so page builds can take a little time. One of the reasons for the move was so I could get everything located on just one of my servers so I can rebuild and upgrade the other one. Then I will move everything to the Dual P3 1GHz I have sitting here and things like that will go away.

(That will be a transparent move though, because I won't be changing host names again. Of course, the way thing are going here, I may register Illuminati-R-Us.com at some point.)

That was the favicon from another web site I was using to host these forums temporarily. I never thought this (forum) was going go anywhere so I hosted it on a site that I wasn't otherwise using but already had forums installed. I expected it would die out in 2 or 3 weeks and I'd scrub the database.

Oops...

Now we have this, so I created the dedicated site.

It should be working again. I brought the old favicon over until I can come up with something else. Fair enough?

Okay, here's a new one:

Is that okay?

(To those of you with IE that have no idea what we're talking about, it's okay. It's more of a FireFox/Netscape thing.)

Actually, the favicon originated with MSIE 5.0. It's just that Firefox, etc., use it in the location field as well as in the bookmarks, while IE only uses it in the bookmarks.

This is true, but in my experience with IE, it tends to forget favicons early and often.
