Closed: Interactive Avatars?

[RESOLVED]
I had an idea for a new feature for phpBB boards.

Where the emoticons could interact with each other across the board. They could go from one area to the other.

They could spread news/gossip
They could graffiti

You would have your own personal emoticon and you could set your emoticon on someone elses to fight or chase them around trying to kiss them or something.

You might be reading a thread and one would run being chased by another one with a club, from a completely different part of the forum and you could click on a box that would tell you what that was about.
You could have an area where people enter the gossip about a fight.

you could have emoticon wars that carry on in the background

maybe stupid ideas and maybe not suitable for BABB but they might work.

It must be the next generation of emoticons- "interacticons"

If I could hack HTML I would write it myself

That's an interesting concept Frogmarch. I'd like to see something like that myself.

Why don't you suggest it at the MOD Requests Forum at phpBB.com?

I agree.

Are you a coder?

If you can come up with something we could try it here.

I used to write BASIC and assembly language on my old BBCcomputer when I was at school in the '80s so I could do it on that, but I don't know anything much about HTML and C+.

I thought that there might be some existing AI packages that you could just plug into the interacticon software, there must be existing packages for the PC games on the market, they wouldn't write it from scratch each time.

Overall, a bit too difficult for me these days.

Those cold, nasty winter nights will be upon us soon enough. Perhaps you'll be bored and take a stab at it.

HTML is uite easy to self-learn. I had to learn it off of a few websites to make my website. try googling for tutorials.

[yes, I know my site is really simple, but it's an art site, and you're supposed to look at the art, not the pretty layout]

It would be a real stretch to support those capabilities using HTML. You'd probably need some sort of code-based infrastructure to support them.
Everything I need to know I learned by Googling.
