Double clicks

Postby Enzo » Mon Mar 18, 2013 1:20 am

Maybe I just need to do some spring cleaning on my computer, but lately this web site - and not my others - has been needing two cursor clicks to respond. If I want to back up a page, I have to hit it twice, write a post, takes two clicks to post it, etc.

I'll clear my cookies and stuff and see...

Dunno. Anyone else? I don't see similar behavior.

I've occasionally felt like it was acting like I had hit "preview" rather than "submit". However, since I have no way to back up and check what I actually did click, I have no way to verify this.

Nah - mine's a one-click pony.
A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station.

If you are seeing an apparent paradox, that means you are missing something.

OK, I did clear my cookies a while back, after this thread started. I still have to double click. Apparently no one else is affected thus. I can go forward fine, and I can click on the whatchacallit - tree bar? - the list of where you are just under the header, the :
Portal>Index>front lobby>suggestions thing

And get to anywhere. But once on a page I have to click once to no response then click a second time to back right up to the previous page. When I right click the backup arrow, I see the page listing, but I also see:

http://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/page

I don't know what it means, but I believe it is what I am having to click past with my extra click.

Could this be some sort of vestige of the google ads that are now defunct? Cookie clearing did not change it. Then again maybe I need to be more aggrssive in what I delete.

Maybe unrelated, but i do still have a hanging 1 New Message note at the top, but all PMs have been read and replied to.

It could be. I need to take the ads off the page.

I also need to work on the PM thing but it might be a bit of a trick, so I'll get to it eventually.

The PM thing doesn;t bother me, I know it isn't a new message, just letting you know.

IF that google connection is my cause, is there some reason you can think of that I now have to click out of the IRU page and the google ad page separately? When in the past they acted as one page.
