da hell?

Let me know if something is not working, or you think something could be made better.

da hell?

Postby Arneb » Fri Apr 26, 2013 7:04 pm

Since I logged in this afternoon, the linkt to the user control panel has been showing me "1 new message". Howerver, there is none. The last PM I got was from bm65, on Feb. 16, and it has been marked read.

Anyone else see this happen?

We had a spammer sign up and send some PMs to a few of us. When I deleted the user, the PMs got unlinked. This happened to me, too. I had to manually delete it from the database.

Do you have the link from the email notification of the PM?

No, I do not use e-mail notofications, as I check in everyday anyway. The url I get from right-clicking and copy URL is ucp.php?i=pm&folder=inbox - which probably doesn't help you very much.

New thing: I received a legitimate PM from another user. I opened and read, even answered it. The "1 new message" announcement beside the user control panel link, however, does not reset to zero.

Any ideas, boss?

Update: The counter had been fixed at "1" now for some weeks, when I received two PMs a few hours apart. Both time, the couinter went up to "2" and then went back to "1" after I had opened the respective PMs - but it never goes to "0", where it belongs.
