Ok, I liked MIB, but may FSM strike me down where I stand, I cannot say the same for MIIB. In fact, it is one of the only movies that I can think of that I
know I've seen, but can't remember any of it - and in no way was my mind in any sort of altered state at the time.
When I watched "I, Robot" for the first time, I was almost constantly expecting Martin Lawrence to show up. I had a similar feeling when I saw Hugo Weaving for the first time as Elrond. He completely destroyed my preconceived notion of Elrond (while the other main characters hadn't, yet), and I swear he was going to say "Welcome to the Matrix, Frodo." I mean, I think Mr. Weaving is a decent actor, but I still can't understand why he couldn't make Elrond not feel like Agent Smith. With hindsight being 20/20, I think he would've been better suited to play Denethor. That's not to say that John Noble didn't do a fine job, though.
Well, I see my rant about Will Smith has turned into a rant about the casting of LOTR. Not to mention that the entire rant is somwhat off topic, anyway....
