Sicko ...

Great song? Good show? Bad movie? What should be enjoyed and what should be avoided.

Sicko ...

Haven't seen it, but Michael Moore sure seems like the guy who ought to be telling us about health care...

Yeah, he tends to go for the easy shot, both in his films and in person. I dunno ... I produced an interview with him when Roger & Me was out and ever since then, I tend to see his films, but I think he almost does a dis-service to his message. I suppose his "humour" and attitude are what bring so many people into the theatre, but he just annoys ... much like his "right" counterparts.

They all bug the shit outta me and when the Death Ray is finished ... they'll all pay ...

I'm very liberal, but even Moore is too far out there for me.

I think his films are entertaining, though. IMO, they're best watched when you take them in stride.

So, they were fans of Michael Moore, then felt betrayed when they learned his film making was manipulative? Imagine that...

Well ... I guess there is a reason I watched a bootleg video of it at home, no?

Michael Moore is the reason I got a cease and desist order from the Beach Boys organization. Really.

I do so hate to be dense, but I'm afraid I need an explanation for this one...

I produced an interview with Moore when he first released "Roger & Me" and we used the Beach Boys' "Wouldn't It Be Good" in it. Originally it was supposed to be just for the local NPR station (Grand Rapids, MI), but then it got picked up nationally. We hadn't applied for permission, so when someone in the Beach Boys organization heard it, they looked it up, saw we didn't purchase the rights, and called us on it. Since it was only aired twice (maybe three times) and not used again, they didn't pursue their legal right to sue my ass (as producer) into the ground.

Suffice it to say, the version I kept for myself got wiped. No evidence on my end! :)
