The Last Leg

Great song? Good show? Bad movie? What should be enjoyed and what should be avoided.

The Last Leg

Postby Heid the Ba » Fri Aug 22, 2014 9:52 pm

Backstory: this is a show that started two years ago covering the Paralympics, the three protagonists are Adam Hills an Australian comedian who is missing a lower leg, Alex Brooker who is missing a leg and has other disabilities and Josh Widdicombe who is from Dorset.

It has turned into a current affairs comedy show which has called out Putin during the Olympics for homophobia among others.

Last week they had Carrie Fisher talking about Star Wars and also offered to send the Westboro Baptist Church to Iraq if they didn't protest Robin Williams funeral. WBC have been responding on Twitter and Last Leg are now raising money for a Robin Williams charity to piss them off. They also called out Dawkins about his recent comments.

I know I'm not explaining this very well but I commend this show to the house.
Get it up ye.

Josh Widdicombe who is from Dorset.

So does that mean being from Dorset is a disability Or was that unintended?

It was meant as a joke, since it is proper yokelshire down there. Rural Wisconsin? The UP? Somewhere like that.

East/West River, depending on whether you are West/East River.

Used to spend a lot of time there. I like Dorset. I don't, however, like The Last Leg - I cannot abide Adam Hills.

The topic reminds me of this guy, who sure as heck suspiciously sounds like he could be from Dorset. Now as it happens in fact, Wiltshire (where is says he is from) is next to Dorset. Maybe its a ruse for people from Dorset to say they're from Wiltshire, in order to avoid being associated with being from Dorset? Is there an archaeologist in the house who may shed some light on this?

I know more about these Doresters than the ones from near Wiltshire, so I can't help you.

No polar bears near Wiltshire, I surmise.

Probably not, I would guess. They used to live in my neck of the woods, during the last ice age - last year I was in a cave on the west coast where a polar bear skull had been found.

Does the Longleat Adventure Park have polar bears? It's in Wiltshire.

Good call. The internets suggest they don't.

They do! But the ones in the pictures I found don't look much like that. Sadly.
