Breaking Bad

Great song? Good show? Bad movie? What should be enjoyed and what should be avoided.

Breaking Bad

They say it's a good show.

What I don'T get is the title: What does "Breaking Bad" even mean? Is it like "breaking news", only "bad" instead of "news"? What is the title trying to tell me? And why the little square around the "Ba"? Ok, that makes it look like a box from the periodic table, but what does cooking meth have to do with Barium? Does that play a role in the synthesis?

Puzzles, puzzles...

Breaking bad wind. I just can't bring myself to watch such hopeless depravity for the sake of amusement. YMMV

Well, The Wikis says the lead character is a chemistry teacher. That would explain the Periodic Table. And also:

The show title is a Southwestern colloquialism meaning, among other things, "raising hell", and was chosen by Gilligan to describe Walter's transformation. The show was set and produced in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Turning all hell loose. OK, Fitting.

I knew that the main chracter is a chemistry teacher, I just wondered if there was any special signicficance to the "Ba" = Barium and ( as I noticed after your answers came in) to the Br=Bromium . Probably none above what you told me.

Thanks!

Yeah methinks it would probably have been better suited as a side-line plot in a one-off pulp fiction type movie instead of a TV serial.
