So is it limited to five? Maybe the person pushing down needs to have a finger between each pair of adjacent rulers?
I also wonder if there had to be many attempts before they managed it.

Pause it at 0:03. He doesn't have a finger between each ruler. I imagine the limit is how many rulers he can fit in his hand and how much downward force he can provide.
I bet you could fit 1 or 2 more in there.
