Schindler's List

I'm passing the evening rewatching Schindler's List this evening and I noticed something odd. In the scene the below image is from you see the name of Schindler's factory: Deutsche Emailwarenfabrik.

Email warenfabrik?

I had no idea they had email back then, or needed factories to process it.

And I assume "waren" is the same as "wares" in English so Fabrik must be factory. So he ran a factory that created email software.

I always knew German engineering was ahead of us but I had no idea it was THAT far ahead.

So they use enamel ink to print the emails? Oh, yeah, that makes sense now.

email factory, I think it is something like Amazon. You email orders for things they fabrikate.

Ah, yeah. That must be it. And they fabricate it out of enamel...

Now you know why we almost won it.

BTW, the German word for email is E-Mail, the two capital letters and the hyphen being non-negotiable. Although most people don'T notice or care.
