We watched this last night and quite enjoyed it. I haven't read the book, though I have read several others on the crash so I knew what was going on. I don't know how well things are explained if you don't have the background knowledge. Some reviews seem to imply that those who benefitted from shorting CDOs somehow are the bad guys as they caused the crash.
