That big???

Great song? Good show? Bad movie? What should be enjoyed and what should be avoided.

That big???

Watching Star Trek - the cartoon. Premise is that a giant cloud is entering our galaxy at its far edge. It absorbs entire planetary systems. Our team races out to meet it. OMG, it is 800,000 kilometers in diameter.

Unless I am doing something wrong, isn't that just roughly a round trip to the moon?

Yeah, just a bit over.

The cartoon? I remember an episode like that from TOS. The thing looked kind of like a giant cream horn pastry.

Oh, the planet eater? William Windom was the captain of the other ship?

I just found it amusing that this GIANT cloud was detectable from across th galaxy. SPock wound up mind melding with it to make it aware of their presence, and essentially "please don't eat us." Similar to the enormous Stonehenge from SPinal Tap.

I guess I never knew there was a cartoon...

The one I'm talking about was The Doomsday Machine, Season 2 Episode 6.

Yep, that is the one with William WIndom as the other captain.

Star Trek, the animated series wasn't a prime time thing.

I vaguely remember TAS (The Animated Series) from the 70s. It was sort of a placeholder before Star Trek: The Motionless Picture was unleashed upon the world.

Too young to know it from the time, but I have seen bits and pieces of it. It seemed pretty good!
