Oirland: it’s another fookin’ ballad, from a fookin’ balladeer. Ballading, in a fookin’ balladish way.

Israel won, despite not being in Europe.

Oh.
Just from the studied analysis, I was kind of cheering for Ukraine.

Not a bad choice, they threw everything at it that they could. Know your audience, the hall is full of gay men and the voters in the UK are almost all drunk.

Can't argue with any of those assessments. Israel should never have won, because not Europe and fucking awful. The Danish entry was disappointing. I'd heard it was about Magnus Erlendsson, an Earl of Orkney where he has a cathedral dedicated to him, and therefore was a shoe-in for a vote for those of us with Orcadian connections, but I wasn't expecting the song to be such a dirge.

Yep, I really didn't like the Israeli song. Eurovision in the Near East after the US opens it's new embassy in Jerusalem, that will calm things down.

Magnus Erlendsson eh? How did they make a song about him into a dirge? Ok, I have no idea who he was . . .

Hopefully every entry next year will be about Palestine.

You may know of Magnus as St. Magnus. He has several churches dedicated to him, and that extremely cool cathedral in Kirkwall.
