Jolting’ Joe has left and gone away
In dark and difficult times, we long for the great hero of yore, who will rise again, Arthur-like, belt one out of the park, and put the world to rights again.
But alas, he does not answer our call; the hero of old will not rise again in our day, and we must face our troubles alone.
Love it.
So it played in the beach bar, but it was clearly a cover, not the original. It was too noisy for Shazam to make it out. I checked Wikipedia, and it’s been covered by Frank Sinatra (I don’t think so), Bon Jovi (maybe - I don’t really know Bon Jovi’s sound), and others.
I need Joe DiMaggio to come back and tell me which version it was.
