Google founder invests in flying cars

A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station.

If you are seeing an apparent paradox, that means you are missing something.

We currently drive on the ground, on paved streets with lane lines painted on them, and clear signs that say things like STOP and NO LEFT TURN and SPEED LIMIT 35, along the way, and yet we can't seem to get people to stay in their lanes, drive at the posted speeds, and stop at corners anyway. How on earth would we expect people to stay in imaginary lanes up in the sky while also maintaining altitude? And while they rarely pay attention to the 360 degrees around them on the flat ground, now they would need to survey all around as well as above and below.

And the first major drone accident is about to happen any day.

Considering the kind of training and competence pilots have to prove, the image of Harry the hot stockbroker kicking the the pedal of his Google AirCar in the early morning after a night out with the lads is just scary.

Cars that are aware of and can avoid each other already exist. They can also navigate autonomously. And Google is a big part of developing that technology.

Put it all together and traffic becomes a thing of the past. I hope I live to see it.

I hope I live through it if I live to see it.

Chaotic traffic become regimented traffic. That means that when rush hour is on, the systems get together and decide that driving at a steady 12.6mph will be optimal, and you will not be able to participate. I know it usually slows down at the exit to the Edens, so I prefer the center lane, even though the computer would rather line me up with the rest of the sheep. I see red lights a mile ahead, and realize things will slow down, so I want in the right lane as soon as possible so I can take the next available exit instead of continuing down a doomed highway. It knows better for me. And I am stuck.

I also worry about cost.
