The 62nd anniversary of this. Coincidence? I don't think so.

Give me time I'll find a link between the two . . .

How weird...

After posting about International Talk Like A Pirate Day yesterday, I remembered World Jump Day and looked it up too, thinking it was coming up soon. I was disappointed to have missed it. I expect my portly self would have made all the difference "in the world" if I had participated.

Can't comment on your portly (or lack thereof) nature, but regardless of size, I think the issue is that those who take off, also land :P

Edit - it probably isn't that weird, your post on talk-like-a-pirate-day is what made me look up jump day also. . .

It was also the 37th anniversary of this. 8-[ *gasp* I get it - they were trying to assassinate the Moon!

The plan must have been to ever so slightly alter the Earth's orbit so that the complex interplay between it and the Moon would be disturbed. The timing must have been just right to send the Moon crashing into the Sun in 2012.

Glad that plan didn't work. :P
