Stand by - just heard some emergency vehicle sirens go by...

Never mind, I guess it was just a fire or accident or something.

I've changed my mind. I think the end will be at sunrise, Chichen Itza time (UTC-6). That happens to be my time zone as well.

ETA:

I've update the Coutdown Clock in the Portal to reflect this.

Less than 18 hours to go!

I have to pack tomorrow, then drive for 10 hours through where a blizzard hit less than a day before.

If it all goes to hell a few hours before all that, I'm okay with it.

12 1/2 hours to go.

Will it be all at once? Or will the end come progressively around the world? I envision perhaps the world becomes a sort of giant Pac Man as time zone wedges keep disappearing out of it.

I don't know but that's a good question. Maybe it just begins at dawn in Chichen Itza.

Or maybe it already started. Has anyone heard from tubeswell lately?

Actually had a woman call into school today to know if school would be cancelled tomorrow, due to the possible apocalypse. Mind you, there are a number of schools in MI that have cancelled due to various Facebook rumours and threats of violence (nothing confirmed - just kids yakking), but she was wondering if something happened if they would call off school.

Yep.

The secretary handled it with ease, then told me, "That's call number two. Today."

Ugh.
Is there such a thing?

How widespread is this belief?

I'm wondering if any firms that needed to have redundancies were able to get rid of some of their more gullible staff without making any redundancy payments . . .

Oh, at least they were not calling to ask if they should kill all their childreen so they wouldn't suffer as it happened around them. Some people were actually thinking along those lines.

It's just before noon here - and the closest I've come to an apocalypse was my abysmal shooting at basketball this morning.

Oh, and school let out early. (Planned 1/2 day)
