I'm going to have to go to the shop to view this. No sound here at the home computer, so it is just a guy standing there holding something. I suspect it is more interesting with the sound track.

On one hand, interstellar space probes have come a long way from the days when we were planning 50,000 ton fusion-powered space probes creeping along at a measly 0.071c on a 50-year mission to Barnard's Star.

On the other hand, how much scientific payload could you cram into something that small? Any optics wouldn't have much aperture.

On the third hand, we still don't actually have any interstellar space probes, anyway.

Didn't Voyager 2 recently become one?

Good point. I guess it depends on if interstellar means getting into interstellar space, or it means actually getting to another stell.

Looks tasty, but I don't see a "stell" on it.

If it's anything like Voyager 1, it'll take a few tries before it exits the solar system for reals. Even then, it's hard to take Voyager 2 seriously as an interstellar probe considering that by 2025 it'll no longer be able to power its instruments, but it won't approach another star until sometime around the year 42,000.
