Wikipocalypse

A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station.

If you are seeing an apparent paradox, that means you are missing something.

Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended on a day not on the list?

Some people might find it funny, but end of the worlds are rarely anything but a pain in the ass, predicted or not.

The first one is the day after the US presidential election, the second one is the day after the new president assumes office.

Not being a cricket player, I don't really get the 'Doomsday Argument By Cricket Analogy' thing. Sounds like fun though.

I always wonder how disappointed the folk who made a few predictions were, when they woke up the morning after yet another wrong date.

No - I know what an augur is, and what a smile is, but haven't heard any expression that explicitly links the two like that.

I lost the original code you wrote when we moved servers. I wrote a new one. Take a look.

Must be German thing then...
The expression evokes the image of two augurs smiling at each other, both knowing that they are fooling the fools with total bullshit, like "nice performance, dear colleague" - "Wait how I'll put the blame on them if my prediction comes out wrong". Smile. Smile.

What I was referring to is, nobody making up End of the World Dates believes in what they say. So have you seen it? It's at the top of most pages and can be inserted with a bbcode by any user any time.

It's at the top of this page.

I'd like your opinion as it compares to the old one. The math is probably mostly still yours. I just taught it some tricks. :D

It looks great, boss. I like it - especially the extrapolation from different post rates. If I remember rightly, though, you had already taught it most of the tricks it knew - like how to determine how many posts had been made.

Honestly, I don't recall. This was really a from-scratch rewrite. I do recall some of the concepts were yours, I just reimplemented them.

Thanks!
