Oh, Schalke were a decent side until quite recently. They've been on and off CL and EL participants (13 times out of 20 in the new millenium), beating the likes of Real Madrid and rarely being shot out of the stadium by anyone. Two national vice championships and the odd European quarterfinal. At their last win, 2 - 0 against eventual CL participant Mönchegladbach in February. they were forurth of the table. They came back from the first lockdown totally unhinged and have been in that state ever since, sacking two able managers and hiring a retired Swiss with a "tough dog" reputation for the rest of the season.
Tasmania? Yes, Tasmania. The turn of the last century was a time when exotism and an interest in foreign lands flourished over here - Germany had always been rather provincial, and we never had a Worl-wide Empire to conquer and administrate, mind you. Having African and Pacific colonies was young, new and exciting at the time. In the case of Rixdorfer TuFC Tasmania 1900, they say that there were Tasmanian Devils in the Berlin Zoo at the time, and they found it fitting to have themselves named after an exotic, small yet aggressive predator.
