Plus, of course, the small matter of several teams (my own included) who are yet more shiterer than that and will finish beneath anything your lot can manage, so I think you're safe.

Exactly, this is a great Sellick team and the worst Rangers team ever but we are closer to them this year than we were last year . . .

I still think we'll finish third, but no way we'll be in the bottom half next year. Yes, we have poor players and no money but most other teams are worse.

Btw, Mainz won againsr Freiburg tonight, with a converted penalty which was given to them by the video ref AFTER both teams had already retired for the half time interval. The teams were called back to the pirch for the penalty execution. Which means two things:

1, refereeing is becomung a strange and dark craft ineed, and

2, our Hertha are still very much in the race for the relegation playoff spot, 9 pts ahead with 12 points still up for grabs.

Do you know that strange feeling in your balls when a lift accelerates downward a little too fast? That!

That was an odd series of events. The Mainz striker did his best to miss the second goal to even it up though.

Hertha will be fine, even they can't . . . er . . . never mind, as you were.

This is very weird. Was it taken like a penalty in a penalty shoot-out? I suppose it must have been, to avoid the chance of it being saved or missed with the ball remaining in play, with the other lot then storming up the pitch and putting it in at the other end. As it should be. Shoot-out penalties are not the same as in game penalties, at all.

Looked to be taken like a penalty in play, which it should have been.

That's right, in-play penalty, only that play wasn't resumed after the goal, because the foul had occurred seconds before rhe end of the first half. Had Mainz not scored, the ref might have allowed rhe game to continue for a few seconds. Therefore, both teams had to be on the pitch again, and in their usual pre,-penalty positions.

Miller is a Dirty Hibbee so fuck him. Odd that I don't trust him since he played for Hibs but I had completely forgotten he also used to play for Celtic.

Mo Johnston (Celtic 1984–1987, Rangers 1989–1991)
Kenny Miller (Rangers 2000–2001, Celtic 2006–2007, Rangers 2008–2011, Rangers 2014–present)
Steven Pressley (Rangers 1990–1994, Celtic 2006–2008)
Mark Brown (Rangers 1997–2001, Celtic 2007–2010)

Mark Brown is a goalie, who used to be pretty good. Probably the only person ever to play for Rangers and Celtic, and Caley Thistle and Ross County.

SpVgg Greuther Fürth 1 - 1 VfL Bochum

Greuther clutch a point at home to a direct competitor (well, everyone's a direct competitor at the moment, the table being what it is), but that only takes us one point clear of relegation playoffs. Still a nailbiter, this season.

Hertha holding on to a 1 - 0 lead at min. 75 in Frankfurt, which would be Really Very Fucking Good for us.

2 nil up just after I finished this post, and Frank'n'furter just saw a red for ramming the scorer in the face with his elbow. Dare we dream?

Eintracht Frankfurt 0 - 3 Hertha BSC

Non-relegation secure, up in the top half of the table for something like the first time this season, and a very nice and prestigious away win: Frankfurt just reached the Cup Final against (of course) Bayern with a gritty win over Schalke, and their coach is going to be Bayern's coach starting next season. Drinks all round.

With Greuther's draw, it's now

Ross County 0 - 0 Motherwell

Played 162, won 62, drawn 39, lost 61.

Results elsewhere put us back on the bottom of the league.

Of course we can dream for Hertha, Ross Chuffing County does the expected. We are up against Hertz tomorrow, it could go either way but we should win.

Rangers 2 - 1 Hearts. We were ok, they were awful and we should have won by a hatful. Two wins and two draws, that is our best weekend for a while.

Played 163, won 63, drawn 39, lost 61

We’re away to Sellick, RCC are away, Fuerth are away, the only bright spot is Hertha at home to Augsburg. It is a sad state of affairs when we’re relying on Hertha, again.

A sorry state of affairs indeed. AND Hertha have the chance to bring themselves within spitting distance of a European placement: We are at home to a relegation candidate, and the two teams in 8th and 7th are away to the top two teams of the League. Venture a guess what will happen?

For Greuther, it's crunch time. Not only are we away, we are away to the team in the relegation playoff spot, one below us, with a point separating us. We may find hope in the fact that St. Pauli are legendary fuck-uppers themselves.
