Table points in the Rugby Championship:

New Zealand: 10
South Africa: 5
Argentina: 4
Australia: 0

No action this weekend. Next two matches are Saturday, Sep 8, New Zealand/Argentina and South Africa/Australia. I thought I would be on the great metal beast in the sky at the time, but now I am rethinking my travel plans.

Anywhere exciting?

I'm guessing the All Blacks will run away with it again?

What do you find exciting? I may have commented on it elsewhere.

So far, the results are very much consistent with that outcome. South Africa doesn’t seem to be what it once was, and Australia may even be eliminated after just three weeks of play (out of six).

MSV Duisburg 0 - 1 SpVgg Greuther Fürth

We scored at the 100th second, and we held it till the end of the game. And we are top of the table for a day. What kind weird season is this?

This is an excellent season, particularly once Lianachan sobers up and posts County’s result.

We need not mention tomorrow’s Old Firm result.

Ross County 2 - 0 Falkirk and back on top of the league.

Including the fine Fürth win above, that’s us at:

Played 29, won 17, drawn 8, lost 4.

FC Schalke 04 0 - 2 Hertha BSC

What. The. Fuck. I get an ominous feeling this must end badly. Hertha are third. THIRD.

Played 31, Won 18, Drawn 8 Lost 5

Gawd, did they have to schedule an Old Firm on a weekend like this? We could have hgad four wins.
Nice radio feature about Rangers today on the way to work. I just caught the last few minutes, and that was basically the time I have been familiar with the events thanks to this thread. But nice hearing some Scottish sounds on the Brandenburgian autobahn. They'll carry Celtic next Sunday, and of course I Won't Be Listening At All.

Not in our tally, though they would be of great help, but the Scotland Women’s team won 2-1 today, to top their qualifying group and are on their way to the Women’s World Cup for the first time.

Germany 0 - 0 France

Germany report back to international quality football with a dependable performance against their successors as World Champion. Phew.

This was a competitive match in the new Nations League, so

Played 32, Won 18, Drawn 9 Lost 5

Ross County 5 - 0 Raith Rovers in the challenge cup. That was the half time score too, so I suspect we eased off the throttle.

Played 33, Won 19, Drawn 9 Lost 5.

We beat Peru 2 - 1 tonight, and it was gruesome. Precision was subterranean, and again, they were sooo surprised by one straightforward counterattack. They can't score a nice round 4 - 0 at home to anyone. It's going to be a lot of work.

No points on the cuount, it was only a friendly.

And, it has to be said, our boys had some remarkably unsucessful encounters with Albania. It's not trivial beating them.

New Zealand 17 - 24 South Africa at the half.

If New Zealand win and get the bonus point, they have clinched the tournament, even though this is only the seventh match in a twelve-match tournament.

If New Zealand win and do not get the bonus point, South Africa and Australia are out, but there is a very slim possibility Argentina could win the tournament (for the first time ever).

I think that in every other outcome, all the teams hopes will remain alive, but there’s another match in 90 minutes.
